About

Who We Are

Emre Bilgin, owner of Ardor Home, Frederick MD

Our family is Turkish, and rugs are a part of our culture. Emre's father built a career in the carpet and furniture trade over decades, and still runs a wholesale operation out of High Point, NC, the furniture capital of the world.

Emre took what his father built and brought it to the retail side, opening Ardor Home in Downtown Frederick in 2015. Most of what we carry comes directly through the family business, which means we can offer quality that's hard to find at this price point because we're not going through middlemen.

We carry handcrafted solid wood furniture made in Indonesia, hand-knotted rugs imported from Turkey and India, teak root pieces, and home accessories sourced from around the world. Bronze crabs from Thailand, Maryland-themed decor, and whatever else we thought was worth bringing back.

Our inventory changes constantly. If you come in once and don't find what you're looking for, come back. It probably won't look the same.

Why Shop Here

Everything in the store is imported and handmade. None of it is mass-produced furniture. It's solid wood, hand-knotted, or hand-carved. Because we source directly through our own family network, we don't have the markups you'd see at a retail chain buying from a distributor.

We're a small shop in Downtown Frederick, and we'd love for you to come by. Whether you're furnishing a whole room or just browsing for ideas, we're happy to help you find something you'll love, or just chat about rugs and furniture if that's more your speed. Everyone's welcome.

Stop in and take a look around. No pressure, no appointment needed.
